Echuca Holiday Park wins 2016 Regional Tourism Awards!

Caravan and Holiday Parks

Echuca Holiday Park took Caravan and Holiday Park gold at the 2016 Regional Tourism Awards.

The park took out the top spot in the annual award ceremony at the Moama Bowling Club on Saturday night.

The annual award ceremony is hailed as the ‘night of nights’ for the Regional Tourism Industry.

Janine Caiolfa, from Campaspe Shire Council said, “We’re thrilled to have been awarded gold for Caravan and Holiday Parks at the 2016 Regional Tourism Awards.

“It’s a huge achievement for Echuca Holiday Park, and a testament to the hard work put in by the park management and staff.

“Council is committed to tourism, and is continually improving facilities at the park – including a new camp kitchen and recreation room, as well as refurbishments to the park’s tennis court and swimming pool facilities.

“These upgrades also helped the park achieve a four star rating through Star Ratings Australia late last year.”

Congratulations to BIG4 Deniliquin and Great Aussie Holiday Park, who took out Silver and Bronze respectively.

Echuca Holiday Park will now enter the Victorian Tourism Awards, with winners announced in November.

Wimmera Mail Times

There was a great article in the Wimmera Mail Times about the recent Caravan Club that stayed with us!

Great times had at Echuca

ON ARRIVAL at the Echuca Holiday Park, members of the Wimmera Caravan Club were greeted by rally hosts for the weekend, Moyle and Veronica. Most attendees arrived on the Thursday. Arrival night was Games Night with a number of members playing noisy games of “Greed”. A very enjoyable night was had by all, with many prizes won, thanks to Ballarat Trailers and Towbars for their generosity.

Friday morning was free for members to shop or catch up on gossip and in the afternoon it was a trip to the Great Aussie Beer Shed. Host Neil Thomas was very informative talking about all his beer memorabilia, petrol bowsers, kitchen and laundry items etc. After a walk  around his beer shed memmers were able to wander outside to check out the vintage machinery which made some people feel old when they recognised some of the items from the past.

Saturday morning some folks wandered down to the nearby Echuca Farmers Market. Dinner on Saturday night saw the courtesy bus from the Moama Bowling Club make two trips to the caravan park to transfer members to the club. After a delicious main course several members hit the sweets bar for a variety of cheap sweets. Several members returned to the club for lunch on Sunday and more sweets.

Sunday night was fish and chip night with president Gary once again heading down to the local fish and chip shop with our order.

Monday morning the group all said their farewells and either headed for home or further north to hopefully a warmer climate. Many thanks to Veronica and Moyle for giving us another enjoyable rally.

What we learnt this trip:

1. When paying for a parking ticket the ticket goes on the dash of the car not in the top shirt pocket..

2. Before driving away from van, make sure the cord to the Waeco is disconnected.

Echuca Holiday Park is excited to have been announced as a finalist in the 2016 Regional Tourism Awards.

The awards are held annually to acknowledge excellence in tourism across four regional tourism areas – Echuca Holiday Park is a finalist for the Murray region under the Caravan and Holiday Parks category.

The Regional Tourism Awards provide tourism organisations the opportunity to gain insight into their industry, their business, achieve recognition for their success and promote tourism within their region. Janine Caiolfa, from Campaspe Shire Council said, “being recognised within the industry by being announced a finalist in the 2016 Regional Tourism Awards is an outstanding achievement for Echuca Holiday Park. “It is a testament to the hard work put in by the park management and staff as well as Council’s commitment to continuously improving facilities at the park including a new camp kitchen and recreation room, as well as refurbishments to the park’s tennis court and swimming pool facilities. “These upgrades also helped the park achieve a four star rating through Star Ratings Australia late last year.”
